Welcome

  1. Workshop postponed

Due to the current situation caused by COVID pandemic (with exponentially increasing figures), and given that Christmas holidays don't seem to be helpful to improve the situation, we believe that it's for the best to postpone the workshop. The plan right now is to celebrate the workshop no sooner than June’22, but this will be be discussed later to pick up the final date. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We were really looking forward to meeting again, but it seems that we'll just have to wait a bit longer. Those of you who already had travel arrangements set, please contact the workshop organizers.

On behalf of the Communications and Signal Processing Lab at Instituto de Investigación en Telecomunicación TELMA, Universidad de Málaga, we are pleased to announce the 9th Spanish Workshop on Signal Processing, Communication and Information Theory, SIC22 Winter, which will be held in Malaga, Spain, on January 17-18, 2022. This workshop is organized within the COMONSENS research network (RED2018-102668-T) funded by Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación and Agencia Estatal de Investigación. We gratefully acknowledge the support of the IEEE Spanish Signal Processing and Communications Joint Chapter and IEEE Spanish Information Theory Chapter.

The technical program features a morning session with three plenary speakers: Sundeep Rangan (NYU wireless), Joakim Jaldén (KTH) and Fernando Pérez-Cruz (ETHZ). In the afternoon, we will have a poster session for Ph.D. students and post-doctoral researchers in the fields of Information Theory, Signal Processing, and Communications. (See Program for more details.) We encourage all participants to contribute.

To foster social interaction between the participants, we will have a Welcome and networking session on January 17th (venue to be confirmed).

Poster presentation: boards of dimensions 160 cm wide and 100 cm high (i.e., landscape orientation) will be available for poster presentations.

Registration deadline is January 10th, 2022. Please, let us know as soon as possible if you are planning to participate. Looking forward to seeing you in Malaga!

F. Javier Lopez-Martinez and David Morales.
